Greetings from Fountain City
Warm, breezy spring days are making it easier for our staff to finish the last pruning work in our vineyards.
Mississippi River Barge traffic is busy again all the way north to St. Paul, and Easter is almost here, certain signs of spring if we needed more assurance that winter is gone.
Our wines make great partners to any Easter gathering, whether it is brunch, dinner or just enjoying the new season with family and friends. And, we’ll be having special sales and surprises in our tasting room throughout the weekend.
Stop by, do a free tasting and walk away with some of our award-winning 100% estate grown wines; a simple way to make a beautiful spring day even better.
See you in Fountain City
Thanks and Happy Spring
The vines are being pruned and are getting ready for warm spring days..
We can’t have green beer, or green wine but we will be open all week leading up to St. Pat’s, with free tastings of our award-winning wines
We’ll also have various sales specials throughout the week, and we hope you’ll be able to celebrate our great spring weather with a trip along the Mississippi and a stop in our Fountain City tasting room
See you in Fountain City..
Seven Hawks is always brainstorming new wines to ferment and debut. This past year we worked hard developing the brand new ice wine. An ice wine is produced from grapes that have been frozen while still on the vine. The water freezes, but the sugars do not. Through this process the wines become very concentrated and much sweeter. It takes a lot more grapes to yield a small amount of wine, which is why ice wines are more expensive than the average wine.
Seven Hawks is excited to announce our new release of Sleeping River Ice Wine. It took nearly one year to finish and it has turned out even more distinctive than we had hoped. Sleeping River is made with winter harvest Frontenac Gris grapes. It is filled with intense fruit flavors with a soft honey finish.
